Participants will be given instruction on safe practices and proper flowboarding
(standing on the flowrider) techniques during this lesson. Sessions are 1 hour sessions!

Lifeguard Training Course

The Primary purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to emergencies and to provide care for injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel arrive and take over.  This course is designed to be taught in approximately 31 hours and 15 minutes.  Participants must be 15 years of age on or before the last scheduled class.  Participants must be able to swim 300 yds continuously using front crawl (freestyle) and breast stroke.  They must also be able to swim out and retrieve a 10lb object in 7-10 feet of water.  It is required that participants attend every class session. Once completing the course, participants will receive certifications in American Red cross lifeguarding/ first aid valid for three years and CPR for the professional rescuer/ AED valid for one year.

Lifeguard Instructor Course

This is a 27 hour course designed by the American Red Cross to prepare students to teach lifeguarding. Once you have completed this course, you have 6 months to complete the certification process by co-teaching a lifeguard certification course.

Water Safety Instructor Course

If you're at least 16 years old and a proficient swimmer, you can become an
American Red Cross Water Safety instructor. Learn to teach children and
adults to swim, and give water safety presentations to kids and their
parents.

SHARKS SWIM TEAM

For ages 6 & up. Cost is $360/year or $40/month; monthly plans are available. There is a $65 enrollment fee that includes USA swim membership. Everyone must be a USA swim team member. Click here for more information.

SPLASH IN THE BORO DURING PRACTICE TIMES.***

Enrollment:
Children must try out at Splash in the Boro prior to registering. Once your child has successfully passed try-outs and has paid all fees, he/she may start the program. If you wish to tryout please arrive 10 minutes prior to the practice start time.
They will be evaluated and placed in appropriate level passed on these standards.

Registration and Attendance:
Each swimmer must be registered through Splash in the Boro. When you enroll your child at Splash in the Boro, you must pay fees for the month your child is attending. Payments can be mailed to the Administrative Office, PO Box 408, Statesboro, GA 30459 (CHECKS ONLY!) Fees must be paid by the 1st day of each month to receive a $10 discount.

Lost and Found Articles:
SBCPRD is not responsible for lost items. Each person is responsible for their own possessions.

Discipline:
The SBCS participants are expected to follow and adhere to all rules set forth by the staff. Positive reinforcement is the coaches primary approach. If the problem of discipline arises, the coaches will handle the situation promptly. Repeated misbehavior will not be tolerated. Good conduct is expected of swimmers in the pool area and at swim functions and events.

Inclement Weather:
We reserve the right to cancel the program due to inclement weather. The SBCS swim team practice or events will not be held during these times to ensure the safety of the participants. Please call 912-489-9089 or visit us online for the most up to date information on cancellations.

Staffing/Swim Methods:
It is the responsibility of the SBCPRD to employ coaches and handle all disciplinary problems. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the coaches or swimming methods used, please call Kimberly Sharpe , Program Supervisor at 489-9051.

All of our coaches are well trained and highly capable of running the Swim Team. They are experienced swimmers and very knowledgeable of swim team programs. We take pride in our capacity to hire such seasoned coaches. It is imperative that we work together to enhance the swim team program and ensure its' success.

Recommendations to move up or down levels can also be made by the instructor once the class begins.
You must register for the Learn to Swim classes
at the Honey Bowen Building on Fair Road prior to the class starting.

Private Swim Lessons:
Located at the therapy pool. Days and times vary based on availability. $25/30 min class for 1 child; $40/30 min class for 2-3 children. (Maximum of 3 children per instructor.) Lessons may be arranged by calling our swim lesson coordinator at 912-489-9089.

or other circumstances beyond our control.
